I came across Glenda Watson Hyatt‘s blog in March 2007, so it was like finding a old friend when I found two blog posts about her recently. Problogger wrote how blogging changes lives by sharing a captioned video of Glenda Watson Hyatt telling her own blogging story. Lorelle on WordPress also blogged about Glenda, writing something that I want to quote: As you design and develop WordPress Themes and Plugins, and even WordPress itself, remember that you are serving thousands, maybe even millions of people just like Glenda. Creative, energetic members of society determined to give back to their community, yet unable to communicate in person or easily interact with a computer. Once again, a lovely time was had by all at the WordPress.dk meetup on April 6. The only essential item that did not live up to expectations was the sunshine. But what did we care about grey skies – we were indoors! Jacob Bøtter, our host who graciously let us meet up at Wemind A/S, bid us welcome and talked a bit about corporate blogging. I thought he presented a lot of very interesting ideas. Jacob talked about contacting members who were set up to collaborate on a blog and encouraging them to comment on posts, for example. This is supposed to be contrary to blogging because the desire to blog and comment should be driven by a real interest and not because someone tells you to blog or comment. Comments closedA bit of shyness makes me use lolcat speak in my title. I couldn’t just blurt out – I am in a podcast! For English readers of this blog, you need to practice your Danish first. The podcast is made by a Dane in the USA in Danish about the Danish blogosphere. The Dane, Rasmus, wanted to interview someone from Webgrrls.dk, and because the board knew how much I loved to talk, they invited me to do the interview on behalf of our network. The interview was fun, with our connection on Skype falling out about every 5 minutes. Rasmus was very cool and didn’t miss a beat. Despite the technical challenges, it really is impressive how we could sit on opposite sides of the globe and carry on a discussion. Amazing stuff, technology.
