While I was sleeping, I got tagged

Well, I haven’t been off sleeping, but while I wasn’t actively blogging, I got tagged from waaay down under. Thanks, Rhonda – I think? Now I need to find 8 things to say about myself that few people know about. Hmmm. I once spent the night on a mountain top in Nepal. Two friends and I followed some villagers up the mountain near our parked bus, probably about 50 km west of Katmandu. We were invited to follow, but when we realized it was getting late, we thought we should head back down the mountain before it got too dark. We knew there was a slippery trail that had a nasty drop to a tiny river with big rocks… We didn’t make it. Back down the hill, that is. Sunshine and WordPress.dk

Every time the WordPress.dk group gets together in Denmark, the sun shines from a gorgeous blue sky. I would have thought that the plan was to have rain so that people would want to stay indoors. Despite this mix-up with the Danish Meteorological Institute, WordPress fans flocked to the wonderful meeting facilities at Advice (thanks, René!). Who cares about sunshine when you can mingle with your WordPress buddies? After an unplanned and long pause in my blogging activities, it is only fitting that a WordPress meetup got me back in the blogging saddle again. In fact, that was the topic I discussed at the meeting. Our get-togethers are lovely organized chaos, but it is still nice to have a starting point. This means that any WordPress.dk members reading this can start thinking about what they might be able to present at our next get-together. Hey! If I can babble about…

Another successful WordPress Meetup

Attending a Danish WordPress Meetup in the company of nice people is a pleasant way for a geek to recover from jetlag! René blogged about it (in Danish, of course). I look forward to seeing pictures when the photographers upload their photos somewhere. Podcasts and blogs I was bit late, but caught the majority of Karin Høegh’s little talk about podcast blogs. She is working on a new tool here in Denmark for publishing podcasts called Podhandle. She feels there are usability issues with publishing methods and hopes that podhandle can provide good solutions. Not being a podcaster myself, I couldn’t really use that information, but I enjoyed listening to Karin’s talk and the discussion that followed.
